Building Fabric Insulation Solutions

The Building Fabric is generally described by the National Construction Code as the building elements forming the envelope of a building. This description and the requirements are required for most building classes, with the exception of certain provisions attached to sole occupancy units.

NCC 2019 introduced Thermal Bridging and Continuous Insulation that has been addressed in part by Neurock’s Commercial Roof Insulation solutions.

Neurock’s commercial Building Fabric range is designed specifically to address some of these NCC updates.

CEILING INSULATION

Neurock’s Commercial Ceiling Insulation range has been developed in modules specifically to suit commercial framing and ensure commercial compliance with continuous insulation barriers that are abutted to each other and provide strict compliance with the NCC.

It is a well acknowledged fact that conditioned spaces that have insulation directly on ceiling linings are better thermally controlled.

ICANZ acknowledge in their current Thermal Insulation Handbook, that ceiling insulation significantly boosts the level of thermal performance to the building fabric.

Key Benefits:

  • Special module sizes, stabilisation and access systems provide continuous insulation barrier
  • Reducing Power Costs and boosting Energy Efficiency because they offer High Thermal Performance tested to AS 4859.1 (2019)
  • Non-Combustible protecting people and property
  • Suitable and Compliant for All Commercial Ceiling Voids
  • Providing a better living environment with high Noise Reduction properties.
  • Made from inorganic materials they are resistant to rodents and other vermin
  • Inorganic are less prone to being damaged by mould or mildew
  • Also available in rolls and other formats to suit grid and commercial ceiling structure allowing continuous insulation.

EXTERNAL WALL INSULATION

Commercial Wall Batts

Neurock Commercial Wall Insulation Batts are developed in sizes to suit commercial framing.

Specifically designed to meet the strict requirements for fire in high rise building and NCC Vol.1 Section C1.10 they are suitable in all external wall applications.

Available in a wide range of R values and densities, they are suitable for all commercial projects.

  • Special module sizes for steel framing and timber framed walls
  • Reducing Power Costs and boosting Energy Efficiency because they offer High Thermal Performance tested to AS 4859.1 (2019)
  • Non-Combustible protecting people and property
  • Suitable and Compliant for All Commercial External Walls
  • Superior acoustic properties
  • Made from inorganic materials they are resistant to rodents and other vermin
  • Inorganic are less prone to being damaged by mould or mildew

CONTINUOUS INSULATION & THERMAL BRIDGING

VapourBreakTM

Neurock VapourBreakTM  is a continuous insulation barrier suited for installation behind commercial cladding and both a continuous insulation and thermal break to minimise thermal bridging.

Manufactured using a non-combustible spun insulation fibre and either vapour permeable or non-combustible foil it is suitable for use in low rise commercial buildings as defined by the NCC.

  • Suitable to be fixed to steel or timber frame external wall sections
  • Continuous Insulation minimising the effect of framing on thermal bridging
  • High resistance to weather
  • Reducing Power Costs and boosting Energy Efficiency by reducing thermal bridging
  • Facings less than 1mm in thickness providing superior fire performance
  • Non-Combustible facing option available
  • Superior acoustic properties

CEILING INSULATION

Improved Condensation Management & Construction Costs

When the insulation under a roof is installed to manage the conditioned space below the linings the running costs of a building are typically higher and dependent on climate zones and mechanical design, can be more prone to condensation problems.

It is a well acknowledged fact that conditioned spaces that have insulation directly on ceiling linings are better thermally controlled.

Assuming a basic roof insulation barrier is provided directly under the roof, the ceiling insulation is primarily controlling the ambient air temperature within the conditioned space.

ICANZ acknowledge in their current Thermal Insulation Handbook, that ceiling insulation significantly boosts the level of thermal performance to roof/ceiling systems.

In short if you are looking to reduce the risk of condensation and meet Section J, coupling Ceiling and Roof Insulation is a must.

Key Benefits:

  • Reducing Power Costs and boosting Energy Efficiency because they offer High Thermal Performance tested to AS 4859.1 (2019)
  • Superior Fire Safe Properties protecting people and property
  • Suitable and Compliant for All Commercial Ceiling Voids
  • Providing a better living environment with high Noise Reduction properties.
  • Made from inorganic materials they are resistant to rodents and other vermin
  • Inorganic are less prone to being damaged by mould or mildew
  • Available in rolls and other formats to suit grid and commercial ceiling structure allowing continuous insulation.

CONCRETE ROOFS >>

Neurock Thermocell

Neurock Thermocell is a continuous insulation product that is tested and meets the Australian Standards for Thermal Insulation, Condensation Control and Fire Performance.

It can be used as a fibre free roof, wall or under floor insulation.

Thermocell Reflective Insulation is manufactured from a fire-resistant foam or cellular core.

Installed directly over safety wire and used to provide a continuous insulation above roof purlins without the use of roof spacers or roof raisers.

Key Benefits:

  • Significant reduction on the cost of installation for commercial roof insulation
  • Easy to handle and fibre free
  • High Water Barrier
  • Superior Vapour Barrier with XHD Facings
  • Excellent acoustic properties to reduce unwanted noise such as excessive rain noise
